Gisela, our Owner and Managing Director at Western Geolabs, plays an active role in the lab's development. Gisela holds a Master of Research in Geology, with published research on heavy mineral provenance using TIMA and LA-ICPMS. Her background spans mineral sands, rare earths, and regolith exploration across Australia, with training in Resource Geology and QA/QC. Hands-on with clients and workflows, Gisela focuses on practical, fit-for-purpose services that meet today's needs while growing the lab's capabilities.

Stuart, our co-owner of Western Geolabs, serves as a silent partner in the business. He holds a double degree in Mechanical Engineering and Commerce from the University of Western Australia, and an MBA from the University of New South Wales, with over 14 years' oil and gas industry experience. Stuart is not involved in day-to-day lab operations, focusing his professional time elsewhere. His role is ownership and background support, not hands-on involvement in daily work.

Rachel, our Senior Lab Technician and team lead, is one of the most experienced members of the Western Geolabs team. With 25 years' experience in mineral sands laboratories, Rachel holds a Certificate IV in Applied Science – Laboratory Techniques and has been with Western Geolabs for over 14 years. As team lead, she oversees lab processes, drives quality assurance and control, and trains new team members, building the skills and consistency behind the lab's day-to-day operations.

Koshali (Kisha) is our Chemist and Laboratory Supervisor, and the team's technical lead across heavy liquid separation at Western Geolabs. Kisha holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Chemistry, with hands-on industrial lab experience in quality control, analytical testing, sample preparation, and production support within structured quality management systems. Kisha leads both funnel and centrifuge processes, focusing on fine fraction heavy liquid separation, optimisation, test work, and new process development, a key contributor to the lab's ongoing modernisation.

Trang (Jade), our Lab Technician, contributes across the wider laboratory workflow at Western Geolabs and is taking on more responsibility as she grows into a team leader role. Jade holds a Bachelor in Environmental and Analytical Chemistry, giving her a strong foundation in laboratory protocols, data management, and compliance. She brings well-rounded capability across funnel heavy liquid separation and the lab's wider workflow, while also playing a key supporting role in centrifuge separation alongside Kisha.

Daina, our Laboratory Technician, brings a diverse laboratory background to the wider Western Geolabs team. Daina holds a Bachelor of Science and is working toward further study in data science, reflecting her strong interest in data-driven work and continual learning. She brings experience in agricultural soil and water analysis, as well as heavy machine oil analysis. At Western Geolabs, Daina supports the team across general laboratory operations, sample processing, and funnel heavy liquid separation.

Torq, our Laboratory Assistant, brings over 40 years of mining engineering experience to Western Geolabs. Torq is a mining engineer with experience across Britain, South Africa, Botswana and Western Australia, and holds an MSc in Mining Engineering from Camborne School of Mines, spanning mineral sands, iron ore, underground gold mining and tailings reclamation. At Western Geolabs, Torq supports laboratory operations, equipment oversight and site health and safety, bringing decades of practical, hands-on experience.

Will, our Laboratory Assistant, has built a strong foundation in laboratory work since joining Western Geolabs earlier this year. Will joined the team at the start of his career to build practical skills in a hands-on environment, taking on greater responsibility and developing a strong eye for detail in sample handling. At Western Geolabs, Will supports daily laboratory operations, including key sample handling stages, and plays an active role in onboarding new starters.

Biren, our Laboratory Assistant, brings a background in environmental health research to the Western Geolabs team. Biren's career began as an Air Pollution Technician in Nepal, monitoring indoor air quality using specialised equipment. Since moving to Australia, he has built a reputation for attention to detail, safety-conscious practice, and careful record-keeping across a range of industries. At Western Geolabs, Biren applies this foundation and attention to detail across laboratory operations and sample processing.

Jhon, our Laboratory Assistant, brings a hands-on approach and a diverse work background to the wider Western Geolabs team. Previously engaged in media research, Jhon is working toward an Advanced Diploma of Civil Construction Design, building his CAD and technical drawing skills. At Western Geolabs, Jhon is developing his skills across sample preparation and laboratory processes, while also putting his diverse skill set to good use in supporting our ongoing modernisation approach.

Jess, our Laboratory Assistant, is completing her studies while working at Western Geolabs. Jess is undertaking a Geology Honours degree at Curtin University, building on her Bachelor of Applied Geology. Her project examines sediment grain size and shape in a marine estuary. She brings experience as a student intern in petroleum systems, reservoir modelling, and well-log analysis. At Western Geolabs, Jess supports the team's sample preparation while studying, bringing an analytical background and curiosity for industry.

Samantha, our Laboratory Assistant, joins the Western Geolabs team periodically during her university breaks. Samantha is in her third year of studying Applied Geology at Curtin University and brings a strong sense of curiosity, enthusiasm, and initiative to the lab, with a genuine interest in the minerals industry. During her time with us, Samantha continues to build her technical skills and industry knowledge. We look forward to welcoming her back during her university break.
